- Morgan is an award-winning sportswriter for the Akron Beacon Journal, where he's been employed since 1995. Morgan covered NBA MVP and All-Star LeBron James all four years of LeBron's high school career at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. Morgan was given permission to write the October 2003 release of LeBron James: The Rise of A Star (Gray & Company, Cleveland), the May 2009 release of Kelly ``The Ghost'' Pavlik: The Pride of Youngstown (City Printing, Youngstown), the July 2009 release of More Than A Coach: What It Means To Play For Coach, Mentor and Friend Jim Tressel (Triumph Books, Chicago), the September release of High School Heroes: Athlete's Stories of Inspiration, Dedication and Hope (University of Akron Press), and an upcoming children's book featuring illustrations of LeBron, Tressel, Pavlik and two high school heroes (a boy and a girl) who team up to promote literacy and the joys and rewards of reading.
